Thinking Day is celebrated on February 22 every year. It is the birthday of Lord Robert
Baden-Powell and his wife Lady Olave Baden-Powell. February 22nd was chosen for
Girl Scouts and Girl Guides to celebrate international friendship and world
peace.
When Lord Baden-Powell was asked how to pronounce his name correctly,
he responded with this verse:
"Man, matron, maiden,
Please call it Baden.
Further for Powell,
Rhyme it with soul."
